GP BULLHOUND SUMMIT

GP Bullhound invited the pioneers and thought leaders of Europe's digital landscape to spend a day and evening in the European Internet hotbed of Berlin. Judging by the extraordinary list of people and companies at the Summit this year, Europe's best entrepreneurs and visionaries have never been busier building great companies.

During the day this unique mix of attendees debated the critical developments in the digital economy, saw Jacob De Geer present the new credit card payment solution iZettle and marvelled at Michael Breidenbrücker’s musical interaction through rjdj in the ground-breaking technology session. Sean Carasso, founder of charity Falling Whistles gave us a new perspective on Entrepreneurship, and we heard key German entrepreneurs discuss and uncover the secrets behind the German and in particular Berlin’s start-up phenomena.

In the evening, everyone gathered to celebrate the successes in the industry at the 9th annual Media Momentum awards.

MEDIA MOMENTUM AWARDS

For the ninth year running GP Bullhound presented the fastest growing and most promising companies in the European digital economy.

The Media Momentum league table is a list of the 50 fastest growing digital companies in Europe. During the morning of the Summit, 10 nominated companies presented to the Judges. The award winners were announced in the evening.

Swedish payment company Klarna swept everyone off their feet, by scooping up five of the eight awards at the ceremony. German Flip4new was recognised as the fastest growing smaller company, London-based Wonga won the award for the fastest growing larger company, and Annelies Van Den Belt, CEO of the Moscow-based Sup Media, the company behind blogging platform Livejournal and other media properties, won Woman of the Year.

W Hotel, 20 May 2011 – Last night GP Bullhound announced the winners of the Media Momentum 2011 Awards, demonstrating that the European digital media economy is growing faster than ever despite the current market conditions.

The event, now in its seventh year, is organised by GP Bullhound, together with premium sponsors Schroders Private Banking, Kemp Little and Acton Capital Partners.

The invitation-only 2011 event was a great success with 150 of the most influential decision makers from the European digital media industry attending. The compere for the evening was Spanish TV presenter Barbara Campos, and the keynote speaker was Mark Sebba, CEO of NET-A-PORTER.
