Once a year the Northern Tech Awards shine a light upon the leading technology businesses headquartered in the North of the UK.
Organised by GP Bullhound since 2014, the Awards provide a unique way of celebrating the innovative technologies and businesses developed in the region and recognise those who have contributed to their success.
Compiled by GP Bullhound, the Northern Tech Awards 100 League Table ranks the fastest growing Technology Companies in the North of England and Scotland. The top 100 and the Top 15 Northern Stars are invited to the Northern Tech Awards ceremony to receive an award.
It continues to be another positive year for Northern Tech, as the wider world increasingly wakes up to the blend of talent and innovation we have in this diverse and tenacious region.
From the Fastest Growing Technology Companies, a Judging panel composed of high profile tech entrepreneurs, investors and experts, select ten companies that are invited to present and compete for the special Judges’Awards.
For 2020, we are excited to extend the focus of the Northern Tech Awards to the rising stars of our tech economy, with a dedicated Northern Stars pitch competition open to selected earlier stage companies and a set of new awards to recognise and celebrate the tech giants of tomorrow.
The Awards provide a unique way of celebrating the innovative technologies and businesses developed in the region and recognise those who have contributed to their success.
The event is invitation-only, attended by CEOs, entrepreneurs and business leaders in the Digital Economy and provides a fantastic networking opportunity for like-minded entrepreneurs to make contact and exchange ideas. The event is free, run as a not-for-profit financed by GP Bullhound and a small group of sponsors who want to support entrepreneurship across the North.
The 2019 Northern Tech Awards were supported and sponsored by Aquiline Partners, Barclays Bank, ECI Partners, Mobica, Pareto Law, OBI Property, Squire Patton Boggs, Berenberg, Frazer John Recruitment, Inflexion, London Stock Exchange and Mercia Technologies.
The winners get an opportunity to network with their peers as well as present to and meet with the Judges, some of whom have built and successfully sold their own technology firms.
Each year the Award Ceremony is held in a different town, recent awards have been held in Manchester (2014 and 2019), Leeds (2015), Liverpool (2016), Newcastle (2017) and Edinburgh (2018). The 2020 Northern Tech Awards will be held in Leeds, as it continues to showcase tech innovation in northern cities.
