Northern Tech Awards 2020 now open for entries

Acknowledging the North of the UK’s biggest tech success stories.

21 November 2019 - GP Bullhound is delighted to announce entries have now opened for the Northern Tech Awards 2020 – acknowledging the North of the UK’s biggest tech success stories. The seventh annual Northern Tech Awards, hosted by GP Bullhound, will showcase and celebrate the North's fastest growing and most promising tech companies.

Shortlisted companies will be revealed on 10 March in the annual Northern Tech 100 League Table, featuring the top 100 Northern fast-growing tech companies ranked by their last three years’ revenue growth.

The Tech 100 will be honoured at an exclusive ceremony on 26 March 2020 in Leeds’ New Dock Hall – witnessed by entrepreneurs, CEOs and business leaders at the forefront of the region’s digital economy. Edie Lush, journalist and co-host of the Global GoalsCast podcast, will host the evening.

Early stage technology companies in the North will also be celebrated as part of the Northern Tech Awards, with judges selecting five companies from the Region’s Top 15 ‘Northern Stars’ worthy of special recognition.

To qualify for entry to the Tech 100, firms must have at least three years of revenue growth with a minimum level of revenue of £500k in 2017. 

Northern Star entries are invited for companies with revenues below this threshold.

The 2020 judging panel will include industry experts from the tech community, including David Moss, CTO and co-founder of Blue Prism, Paul Gouge, Founder of Playdemic and Richard Flint, former CEO of Sky Bet. Details of further judges will be revealed soon.

Previous winners at the Northern Tech Awards include Skyscanner, Nexus, Missguided, The Hut Group, Music Magpie, LADbible, Twinkle Educational Publishing and Evolution Funding.
