LendInvest is the UK’s first and largest online marketplace for property lending and investing and has financed over £525m of mortgages since inception. It has funded over 2,100 properties and has never incurred any capital losses on the properties it has funded. LendInvest was launched in 2013 with the ambition to re-invent the mortgage sector, bridging marketplace technology to the offline property finance market.
With the completion of the minority investment from global growth equity investor Atomico, LendInvest will accelerate its expansion and continue its high growth trajectory, focusing on extending into the broader UK mortgage market.
“This is a significant milestone for LendInvest and we are excited to have found such a strong partner to support our expansion path”, commented Christian Faes, Co-founder and CEO. “GP Bullhound have done a fantastic job helping us navigate through this transaction and achieve a great result for everyone involved.”
Claudio Alvarez, Director at GP Bullhound commented: “LendInvest is the category leader in the P2P property marketplace sector with a strong and experienced management team. We are delighted to have brought on board an investor like Atomico, which alongside existing investor Beijing Kunlun Tech Co., allows the company to strengthen its leadership position.”
This represents the completion of GP Bullhound’s 27th transaction in the last twelve months and further highlights the firm’s commitment to working with category leaders in the Fintech sector, following on from previous successful transactions and investments in the area, including SlimPay, Smava, KnCMiner, Zuto, Treasury Intelligence Solutions, PayOne, Pozitron, and Klarna.
