Javed HuqExecutive Director at GP Bullhound, commented: “It was an honour to recognise and celebrate the fastest growing technology companies across the Northern tech ecosystem at last night’s awards in Edinburgh. 2022 proved to be an outstanding year for the Northern tech sector, despite a more challenging environment across tech, demonstrating the resilience of the brilliant entrepreneurs building these innovative tech companies. The North of the UK is a true powerhouse in starting and scaling world-class businesses, and we look forward to following our talented award winners as they continue their success journeys.”

The winners were unveiled following deliberation by a panel of judges – who included Ana Stewart, Entrepreneur & Eos Advisory Partner, David Moss, Co-Founder of Blue Prism, Jenny Parker, Co-founder of Country Attire, and George Mackintosh, Founder of Eggplant. Sponsors supporting the evening included Apprentify, Cazenove Capital, ECI Partners, Squire Patton Boggs, Aquiline Capital Partners, Bruntwood SciTech, Inflexion, Godel Technologies, London Stock Exchange, Shepherd and Wedderburn, and YFM Equity Partners.

The awards come on the back of recent insights from GP Bullhound unveiling 2022 as a record year for the Northern technology ecosystem – with average growth rates of best-performing tech businesses across the North reaching an all-time high, despite a more challenging environment across tech.

Analysis from GP Bullhound revealed that the Top 100 fastest-growing tech companies in the North recorded an average growth rate of 42%, and the Top 10 had an average growth rate of 119%.

The Northern Tech Awards are proud to support Young Enterprise and Young Enterprise Scotland in their mission to empower young people to discover and celebrate their skills and potential, through nationwide enterprise and financial capability programmes.
